SAE – Sistemas de Automação e Energia, celebrates its 20th anniversary with confidence.
This year, in a special context, we reflect on the early days of the company’s foundation and on its present, oriented towards a future with clear objectives: the global leadership.

What started in a garage, as a small company in Trofa, in 2001, became a reference company in infrastructure solutions for electronics: cabinets and racks, IoT equipment, power supply systems, EMC shielding, thermal management, cables and connectors up to assembly and electrification of equipment.

Talking to the founding member of SAE, Aires Ferreira explains what led to the creation of the company:

“From an early age I developed an interest in electronics, but the information sources and number of articles was scarce, especially in Portuguese. With the acquired know-how in the company where I worked, I decided to proceed with the creation of SAE. The early days were not easy, I had to conciliate several activities, but with experience and flexibility it came to fruition and today the company is recognized in the national and international market.”

Looking back, excitedly, he recalls the biggest challenge successfully overcome:

“I can say that SAE is a solid company, with recognized dynamism with our customers and suppliers. This leads us to SAE being the exclusive representative in Portugal of the renowned nVent Group with the Schroff and Hoffman brands.
As a supplier of large national and international companies, SAE is a company certified with the ISO 9001-2015 Standard, which is a guarantee of compliance with the quality requirements of our customers.”

His eyes focusing on the future for SAE:

“When I think about the future, I remember that last year we acquired a large space with 300 square meters where we have all the requirements to innovate, namely a loading and unloading zone, ample storage space and an area for electrifying electrical panels.
In the current facilities we have the office area, meeting room, production area with the capacity and efficiency to assemble electronic boards, small equipment and wiring according to the customer’s specification.
